LED LIGHT THERAPY
What is LED Light Therapy?
Light emitting diode (LED) therapy, also known as phototherapy or low-level light therapy, is a non-invasive therapeutic modality that helps to improve cellular health. In our Houston clinic, we offer Celluma LED Light therapy, an award-winning device that is FDA-cleared to treat muscle, joint and arthritic pain, as well as acne and wrinkles by decreasing inflammation and increasing micro-circulation.

How does it work exactly?
Red and blue light therapy offer powerful, non-invasive benefits for skin health, pain relief, and overall wellness. Red light therapy (wavelengths around 630-850nm) penetrates deep into the skin and tissues, promoting cellular repair, reducing inflammation, and stimulating collagen production. This makes it excellent for reducing wrinkles, improving skin elasticity, and accelerating wound healing. It also enhances circulation and can ease joint pain, making it popular for conditions like arthritis and muscle recovery.

Blue light therapy (wavelengths around 400-500nm), on the other hand, is primarily used for its antibacterial properties. It’s especially effective for treating acne by targeting and destroying acne-causing bacteria while reducing oil production in the skin. It can also help with mood regulation, as exposure to blue light has been shown to improve symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and support a healthy circadian rhythm.

Together, red and blue light therapy provide a well-rounded approach to skin health, inflammation reduction, and overall cellular rejuvenation. Whether for anti-aging, acne treatment, or pain relief, these therapies offer a safe and natural way to enhance well-being.

LED Treatments in the Clinic
Patients can opt to add LED light therapy to their acupuncture treatment, or book a 30-minute, stand-alone treatment. It works best in conjunction with acupuncture when being used to treat acne or wrinkles, or on the back, neck or over achy joints. It can also be used over wounds to speed up the healing process. We also include LED light therapy with every acu-facial treatment.
